Walking through the trail, the Sun blazes and it seems almost blinding. The Sun is about the set, and the walk continues. The trail is near the end, with each step it’s about to close off. Looking up, there’s the tip of the evergreens that introduce the entrance to the forest. Then, you stop. Suddenly, the sky falls dark and the Moon shines, lighting the edge of the trail. Closing your eyes, there’s the crack and the crunch of the living Earth. It seems to be a distant vibration underneath your feet. It’s as if the Earth beneath the ground is breaking, coming alive in the night. Chills run down your spine, and the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. It’s as if someone is about to leap in front. As if something is or has happened. You just have to see. Then once you open your eyes, you’re on the ground, laying down on the floor or your room. Shining upon your is the Moon’s reflecting light through the windows. You shiver, as you feel the distant vibration in the ground: The ground that you lay on.
