What even is Proof?

In a room full of giddy students. Naive memories. We question “What’s next?”. The environment full of muttering and giggles or even overconfident future planning. The average undergraduate student still searched for answers and held on to those who believed in their capabilities. Often overlooked are the children in the back who questioned the answers that others held onto.

Fast forward to a college classroom, an intellectual’s course explains the perception of someone’s own truth. Allowing the possibility for one truth to be different, even though that truth was believed for so many years. Students grasped the thought of their reality being different than their friend’s. Professor explained the idea of understanding different perspectives of fact and false ideas.

Students sit silently in a pin drop classroom. Mutters are muffled by the comfort of the professor’s booming voice.

“The perspective you are witnessing is your world is simply your own personal experience; It’s ONLY your experience!” he exclaimed seemingly with excitement.

Mutters fall quiet, some gasp in realization. All that fills the soft room are loud thoughts wrapping around the concept of subjective existence. The wise community created in that second allowed the dire question to be answered.

”Perhaps a fact is a belief collected within an agreed experience created through communication between the vast majority of a community,” the professor calmly smirks as he paces and twiddles his fingers behind his back. He twirls on his heel to face the diagram he drew explaining the dynamic of perspective.
