Episode 1 – The End of the Rainbow
The snow is pouring down like ice across the field of pavement. In the city of hope and creation, rather the best place to be is under the roof of her own safety and peace of mind. A car turns onto the road slowly paving new tire tracks into the curve of the path. The small red car continues on and abruptly halts to the side. Her driver glances out pressed into the window of the car, causing the glass to fog up from warm breath. She sees the knob move and then its wooden door open to an anticipating figure of her dear friend’s arrival. Eila hovers her hand against the transparent door trying to make out the object through the fog and thick falling snow.
Eila squints, her face perplexed only to her realization of her friend Faye to finally arrive. She waves excitedly only to jump out to invite her inside with only thin pajama shorts and an oversized t-shirt.
“There’s a spot over there!” Eila exclaims pointing across the road to an unclaimed space enough for Faye’s baby sized carriage.
”Ah.. I’ll be there soon!” To Faye’s embarrassment, her swift turn was not quick enough to claim her spot.
Faye turns her head to look at the spot after responding to Eila only for there to be a car taking place. Faye whips her head back, only to see her friend heading back inside with the door swinging closed behind her.

Eila finds herself sitting at her couch. There’s this specific spot she created just for her comfort. Dug in are corners and parts just perfectly relaxing enough to sleep in. Regardless, it is reliable to provide the emotional support for ever moment. With a jerk of her hand, she checks her phone’s notification so quick it doesn’t sound. Eila’s eyebrows move together in focus, and her expression changes into disgust as her eyes widen staring at her screen. Without removing her eyes from the keyboard, Eila reaches for her bottle, curling her fingers around the handle. She rereads the message on her screen trying to make out sense from the words she sees. Eila finally exhales and tosses her phone in front of her on the couch in disbelief.
The door sounds a ring with the knob rattling. She has been expecting Faye to walk in sooner and it’s been too long too her. Eila huffs, and shuffles toward the front door letting Faye in.
Faye stumbles in tripping over her own shoes with the door carelessly slamming closed behind her. As she finally lifts her head to meet Eila’s eyes, she reads her face painted with question and answers before Eila has a chance to speak.
“The spot you showed me litterally was taken before I got to get in. Sorry it took so long..” Faye speaks losing her breath. “God, it’s so cold.”
The girls settle in together in their long awaited reconnection. Eila drifts into the kitchen fixing a drink. Faye gawks at the sparkly drink before her nose sitting on the kitchen counter. She rambles to Eila about the latest news of humanity’s idiotic drivers and the long awaited weekend. The dreadful year of the girls’ lives are coming to an end, as they choose to celebrate in dainty gossip and warm support.
“Girl! I have so much to tell you! So much has happened.” Eila responds to Faye’s excited jitters of her ending week.
Faye smiles, bringing warmth in her cold blue eyes, “I’m listening.”
